Sports Performance
The fundamentals of improving sports performance is having a good level of fitness and strength whilst being able to fuel performance correctly. However, improving sports performance goes far beyond doing a few 5k runs, turning up to the gym and eating bit more carbs before a match or event.
Sleeping patterns and quality of sleep, level of stress in life, digestive health, current level of body fat, current diet and its quality of nutrients, current hydration habits, history of carb intake during events, supplement use, activity outside of training, training execution, recovery capabilities, occupation and current mindset all need to be taken into consideration to map out a path that will allow you perform at your highest.
It is no coincidence that the first time I worked with Paul I received the player of the year award from my GAA club. My energy levels and performance levels had been extremely inconsistent until being coached by Paul but almost immediately I saw improvements in my performance levels and recovery from the moment I started working with him. I was just approaching 30 years of age when starting with Paul and I can safely say I was and still am moving better than when I was 21 years of age. As a busy coach myself, Paul helped create a structure around my nutrition and training and made me realise how important stuff like rest, sleep, hydration, electrolyte balance and food choices around matches is. I genuinely don’t know where I would be today without his input the last few years as working with Paul has also brought my own coaching to new level with my own clients due to the knowledge he provides. This man is elite and there are literally no limits he won’t go to in order to get the best out of his clients. While I was working with Paul I felt like I was his only client such was the care and time he gave me throughout and couldn’t recommend him highly enough.
Five Stars From Me
I dont really know where to start, Paul has had the most influential impact on my life to date. I approached Paul as I was finding it hard to find the right balance between my love for camogie while also making progress in the gym as this was a very close second passion of mine. When I approached Paul, I trained 7 days a week sometimes even twice a day trying to squeeze both all of my gym sessions in as well as a very intense camogie training schedule. I honestly didnt know any different until I began being coached by Paul – he didn’t make me feel bad or small for how I was previously over training, he actually took the time to teach me and show me how if we actually implement a much more whole approach to my training and life that I will actually begin to see more sustainable results and also perform so much more efficiently on the pitch which was my main aim. I have been with Paul well over a year now and I am still learning so much he is literally a fountain of knowledge. I am very much of a person who wants to know why Im eating that why Im training like that and Paul would always ensure to go into such depth with me because he knew if I actually understood why I was pulling back on sessions or why I should take a rest day then I would actually be able to apply this in the long run and not just for 6 or 8 weeks. Its been over a year and I have never ever been moving as well on the pitch, performing as well in the gym and as happy with my body composition.
